Brooklyn Ballerina - An Avalon Career Romance
Published in Hardcover by Avalon (June, 2001)
Author: Zelda Benjamin
Average review score:

A refreshing change from the cultural norm-
In a world where sex, drugs, and violence tops the market, a light romance that touches the heart is the missing ingredient we all need in our soups of life. The detailed and vivid images of Brooklyn, NY gives the story and characters to a certain vitality. You feel as if you've known them all your life and have seen them on the streets. For anyone who's looking for something to bring a smile to their face, Brooklyn Ballerina dances it's way to the top of my list!

Perfect mix of Brooklyn and Ballet.
If you ever lived in Brooklyn or know someone who did you will love this book. I did.

The Ivy Tree - An Avalon Romance
Published in Hardcover by Avalon Books (24 April, 2001)
Author: Carolyn Brown
Average review score:

Seasons of "The Ivy Tree" paint a lasting picture
"The Ivy Tree" is personally my favorite of Carolyn Brown's Avalon Books. Allie's portraits of the ivy tree show the changing seasons of her heart and life. Her love for Truman begins ny barely taking root and eventually with time grows into a lasting love that will stand strong throughout the tests of time. I highly recommend curling up with this book or any of Brown's romances or historical romances.

The Ivy Tree
This is a heartwarming story that you can't put down once you get started reading it. It has all the fun elements that get you wanting to turn each page from the beginning with a small child that will win your heart, even to a dog, that you know will want you to get Truman and Allie together before the story is over with. The funny things that children come up with in the conversations with adults makes the book a must read. Truman and Allie were two people lost in an almost different world that needed to find each other and be together. I enjoyed the part about the sharing of the cooking chores. And the part where Truman got hurt and had to be rushed to the hospital with Allie by his side in the ambulance tore into my heart. This is a great, great book. Again, ten stars plus and two thumbs, with ten toes to heaven. This book is heartwarming, and one that you will want to read!!!!

Lessons in Love - An Avalon Romance
Published in Hardcover by Thomas Bouregy & Co (24 April, 2000)
Author: Debby Mayne
Average review score:

A compelling read
This book grabs you from the first page and doesn't let you go. The characters are extremely likable and well-drawn and the town has an old-fashioned charm to it. The author has a talent for pulling the reader in so you feel as if you are a part of the story. You can almost SEE their surroundings. Great read!!!

A Romantic Retreat
This is a wonderful book to read if you want to remember what falling in love once meant--Nice people geniuinely caring about one another and their friends. Even the "bad guys" aren't too bad when you realize you care about them, too. Hartsville, the fictional small town where this romance is set, is just the kind of place many of us would love to live in, or just visit now and then. You can believe a big city photographer and an elementary school teacher could fall in love there.

Lily's White Lace (Avalon Romance)

"Lily's White Lace" vows to last
The wonders of Carolyn Brown's romances never cease. She continues to create love stories that last in the readers' minds. "Lily's White Lace" does just that. Be sure to read her other Avalon Books romances and historical romances.

Lily's White Lace
Imagine finding out before you say I do that your husband to be has been cheating on you. What a terrible feeling. But what do you do? If you're smart like Lily, you would leave him standing at the altar. But shedding tissue and tissue over leaving someone that you did love and trust isn't an easy thing. And never trusting a man again is even harder, especially when a fine man like Jesse comes along. In the end, stubborness does find a way out the window and Lily finds herself falling for Jesse, as he does with her. They know that they were meant to be together. And true love finds a way to bring them together always. This is a superb book and deserves a ten stars plus. Lily's White Lace is a book that brings love into any home. You will love this book from the beginning to the end. A ten stars plus for any reader. You will be touched by the wonderfully written story as you turn page after page. Great book!!!

Love Undercover - An Avalon Career Romance
Published in Hardcover by Avalon (June, 2001)
Author: Jean C. Gordon
Average review score:

Love Uncover
Jean C. Gordon has written an excellent book with Love Uncover. I loved the part about the surreptition wink with Devon and Jason when they were talking to Tina. The parts where Devon really wanted to get close to her and not just because of the case. When he met little Amy and they both clicked when he carried her back pack. Children know when to trust and like adults. And when Tina's father was missing and Tina was casting stones into the water when Devon approached her to give her comfort. This was very touching. But the police thinking otherwise when the needles were found when her father was missing, not realizing about him being a possible diabetic. Isn't that just like people to jump to irrational decisions? Ms Gordon had me on the edge of my seat when the police showed up at the end to see Tina. This was a really good book and deserves a five stars!!!

Love Uncover
This is a positive great book that everyone should read. You will fall in love with Tina and her daughter, Amy. There is Kate who is fun. You can tell by the way of her speech that she is a fun person. The part with Amy's father and a girlfriend made you feel as if you were right there in the hospital room sharing a family gathering. And Devon, I fell in love with his charm, his warm sincere caring for this family. The way that Ms Gordon gave the characters in this book true emotion made you feel as if you were a part of the family. And Crystal and Uncle Jack...who knows? Honestly this was a good book that I could not put down. It deserves a five stars!!

Moon Metro Los Angeles (Moon Metro Series)
Published in Paperback by Avalon Travel Publishing (November, 2002)
Author: Avalon Travel Publishing
Average review score:

Awesome for tourists
This book really helped while my husband and I went to L.A. for a vacation. The book has highlighted the most interesting areas of the city and made the ciy managable. Each highlighted area has its own fold out map with places to see and things to do. This is a great feature for driving around the city because you don't have a huge map to deal with (so chances are you won't wreck the rental car). Each highlighted area has infomation and a bit of history provided. The book also has pages in the back with detailed descriptions of interesting sites, resturants, hotels, etc. This book helps the tourist explore one area at a time. I highly recommend this book, and the metro moon series for the traveler.

HAVE TO HAVE GREAT MAPS TO GET AROUND THIS CITY
L.A. is not a walking city. I loved these maps that helped me navigate the different areas of L.A.. Everything is clear: freeway exits, shopping and clubs districts. Really good guide for hanging out in L.A.

Only For A Year - An Avalon Romance
Published in Hardcover by Avalon Books (24 June, 2000)
Author: Ludima Gus Burton
Average review score:

Only for a Year
This is the first book that I have read by this author. It won't be my last. This was a heartwarming story that was truly full of love. I enjoyed every word I read with every turn of the page. My heart went out to both Brent and Sarah. I so wanted them to hurry and tell the other their true feelings. This is a masterpiece. And bringing Aunt Hattie into the picture with the family was such a tender moment with Sarah. I am so glad that they got along. Mrs. Burton is an inspiration to all of us as writers. Only for a Year, was incredible. The characters will always stick in my mind. Excellent, superb. One that made me laugh, cry and feel a warmth in my heart. Two thumbs up and ten stars to this beautiful story of love between two people that finally found each other and held on to that love forever. I hated to see it end. I looked forward to Brent going home and finding Sarah there waiting for him. A wonderful, wonderful masterpiece that young adults as well as all ages should read. It should be made into a movie.

A sweet, sentimental page turner
I fell in love with this book right from the start! Brent Chambers and Sarah Gordon are characters that a reader hates to say goodbye to at the end of the book. Miss Burton is an excellent writer and captures the true essence of romance with her unique style that endears the characters to the readers heart. She brings you into the world of what I consider to be a modern day Cinderella story and makes her characters come to life with real feelings. I would definetly recommend ONLY FOR A YEAR as a great read! Miss Burton is a writer to watch!
